Yu Minhong doesn’t take Luo Yonghao as a stumbling block+

“The third day of pretending to be deaf after the incident of inferior quality sliding stools.”

At noon on September 28, Luo Yonghao went to the comment area of Yu Minhong’s Weibo again and left a message. The day before, he had asked Yu Minhong twice in the comment area.

What he chased after Yu Minhong was about Oriental Selection’s attitude towards “Liu Liu Ben”. The cause of the incident was that after the “yoyo stool” sold in the Make a Friend live broadcast room overturned, Luo Yonghao apologized and initiated compensation. But he also pointed out that Oriental Selection had sold the same product for 10 million yuan, so why didn’t it apologize and pay compensation? So, he bombarded the Eastern Selection for three consecutive days.

Luo Yonghao dragged Yu Minhong into the public opinion field, but Yu Minhong remained silent.

In the past few years, Yu Minhong is no stranger to Luo Yonghao’s chasing and scolding, and his response has always been the same: not to accept the move. For Luo Yonghao, Yu Minhong is a traffic entrance that has been repeatedly verified. But Yu Minhong’s silence means that he does not want to use Luo Yonghao as a “shaker”.

Zheng Gang and Li Ji obviously didn’t think so. They all regarded Luo Yonghao as “shaking+”, so several disturbances hit Luo Yonghao at the same time.

Li Ji used the Xibei incident to drag him back to the center of public opinion. He planned to unite with relevant “victims” to initiate a lawsuit against Li Ji. In addition to collecting debts, Zheng Gang reported him for tax evasion in his real name. He was also busy doing various “backbitings” for Zheng Gang. His former colleague Huang Bin also chased after him and scolded him, exposing his so-called conduct as a former colleague.

In the past, Luo Yonghao’s most comfortable position in the field of public opinion was as a critic. However, in September, Luo Yonghao’s troubles seemed to come one after another. The person who was once very good at turning others into “Dou+” has now become other people’s “Dou+”.

His podcast “Luo Yonghao’s Crossroads” has been suspended due to the dispute with Li Ji. Since September, only one episode has been broadcast. In three months’ time, his technology sharing conference named “Crossroads” will be held. Can it still be held as scheduled?

This may depend on whether Luo Yonghao can escape from the public opinion field he is most familiar with in the face of wave after wave of controversy.

A

As usual, Yu Minhong still did not respond to Luo Yonghao’s condemnation. Although Luo Yonghao has gone to the comment area of Yu Minhong’s social account to shout, Yu Minhong has always remained silent.

Judging from the situation in the past few years, this has almost become a fixed pattern between the two: Luo Yonghao keeps speaking out, and Yu Minhong rarely responds.

In other words, Luo Yonghao treats Yu Minhong as a dagger+, but Yu Minhong does not want to treat Luo Yonghao as a dagger+.

In fact, there are many people and brands that Luo Yonghao has used as “Dou+”.

The dispute with Xibei last year is a typical case. At that time, Luo Yonghao directed traffic to the live broadcast room. During the three days when the controversy continued to ferment, the Make Friends live broadcast room attracted 10 million viewers. The highest cumulative sales amount was estimated to be 50 million yuan, which was several times higher than the same period on normal days. The stock price of Make a Friend also rose by more than 12% in two trading days.

Of course, Yu Minhong has always been Luo Yonghao’s biggest source of traffic.

As early as the Dongfang Selection essay controversy, Luo Yonghao had repeatedly denounced Yu Minhong, and related topics continued to appear on hot searches. In December of that year, the Make a Friend live broadcast attracted 104 million viewers, 30 million more than the previous month.

When Dong Yuhui and Oriental Selection were completely cutting off, Luo Yonghao was still commenting and selling goods in the Make a Friend live broadcast room. He even did his homework and wrote down the discussion points on paper.

For example, in this paragraph, “I said Boss Ren is an iron rooster, Boss Ma is an iron rooster. It can’t be detonated… Why did it explode when I said the iron rooster?” Speaking of excitement, Luo Yonghao calmed down his emotions with both hands, and did not forget to sell goods, “Drink a Gatorade, a sports drink…” That night, 7 million people poured into the Make a Friend live broadcast room, and sales jumped from 2.5 million to 5 million a day ago to 10 million to 25 million yuan.

To use a current Internet buzzword to describe it, it can be said: Luo Yonghao took Yu Minhong as a scorn+, became so ruthless, and forgot about his feelings.

From this perspective, Yu Minhong is indeed one of Luo Yonghao’s stable sources of traffic. In Luo Yonghao’s Weibo, apart from Apple, one person or brand that can appear repeatedly for a long time is Yu Minhong.

From the perspective of traffic maximization alone, Yu Minhong seems to have no reason to avoid this discussion.

Alphabet has previously analyzed that the biggest problem currently facing Oriental Selection is the lack of traffic. Productism allowed Dongfang Selection to successfully transform, but at the same time it lost its traffic source and had to increase marketing expenses. Reflected in the financial data, sales and marketing expenses in fiscal year 2026 increased to 1.1 billion yuan, so that when Oriental Selection’s GMV, revenue, and salary expenses were almost the same in fiscal year 2026 and fiscal year 2023, the net profit in fiscal year 26 was only half of that in fiscal year 23.

In this case, Yu Minhong is the only and stable source of traffic for Oriental Selection. If Yu Minhong stands up and responds, it may have some traffic benefits for Oriental Selection. But Yu Minhong did not do this.

In fact, this does not quite fit with his image of “not avoiding public opinion”. Yu Minhong is an entrepreneur who likes to speak out. Whether it is the controversy with Dong Yuhui or the past public opinion turmoil of Oriental Screening, he has publicly responded and even apologized many times. During the “Antarctic Letter” incident last year, he also did not avoid public discussion. To a certain extent, Yu Minhong did not reject public opinion and was even good at using public discussion to increase attention for himself and Oriental Selection.

But only when facing Luo Yonghao, he remained silent for a long time.

This is actually in line with Yu Minhong’s consistent style. As we all know, the feud between Yu Minhong and Luo Yonghao can be traced back to more than 20 years ago. But in recent years, Luo Yonghao has been unilaterally exporting most of the time, and when it comes to Luo Yonghao, Yu Minhong almost never responds. In other words, Yu Minhong has never used Luo Yonghao as a slut, which at least means that Yu Minhong did something wrong.

Of course, as far as Luo Yonghao pointed out the problem of Oriental Selection’s product delivery itself, whether it was out of the host’s responsibility or out of standing on the consumer side, we cannot say that Luo Yonghao was wrong.

The question is, if Yu Minhong doesn’t pick up the fight, can Luo Yonghao’s battle continue?

B

But it doesn’t matter, Luo Yonghao still has two tough battles to fight.

In ancient times, Zhuge Liang engaged in verbal battles with fellow scholars, but now Luo Yonghao “battles three people” on Weibo. In September, Luo Yonghao will not only play against Yu Minhong, but also against Zheng Gang and Li Ji. Although the number of people is not as high as that of “Qunru”, the situation of fighting with one enemy against many is roughly similar.

If Luo Yonghao uses Yu Minhong as a regular +, then Zheng Gang uses Luo Yonghao as a regular +.

There are nearly 80 pieces of content on Zheng Gang’s Weibo, and it can be said that more than 80% of the content is directed at Luo Yonghao. In September 2024, the first Weibo he posted was to question Luo Yonghao’s “True Return”. Since then, Zheng Gang has denounced Luo Yonghao on Weibo almost every once in a while.

Moreover, just like Luo Yonghao gave Yu Minhong nicknames, Zheng Gang was also used to giving nicknames to Luo Yonghao, including but not limited to Luo Yongshu, Liar, Luo Shimei, etc.

The latest concentrated denunciation has been four months since the last time. On September 20, Zheng Gang forwarded a Weibo post “Exposing Xibei’s lawsuit against Luo Yonghao” and once again talked about the debt dispute between himself and Luo Yonghao, saying that Luo Yonghao “created a fake entrepreneur and harvested investors… I have been with him for 10 years and gave him the most money, but I still don’t know him well.”

And this time, Zheng Gang escalated the battle. Not only did he accuse Luo Yonghao of being owed 25 million yuan, but he also reported tax evasion by Luo Yonghao and a friend in real name. He also recruited law firms and accounting firms from across the Internet to investigate Smartisan Technology’s bad debts over the past 15 years.

This is almost exactly the same as Luo Yonghao’s entire network recruitment last year when he played against Xibei. However, last year Jia Guolong “revealed himself” as the chef during the live broadcast, and Luo Yonghao obviously would not just accept it.

Luo Yonghao not only did not respond to Zheng Gang’s accusation of arrears of 25 million yuan, but also made a comprehensive “backlash” against Zheng Gang.

Luo Yonghao said that Zheng Gang’s true situation is that he is carrying 13 court consumption restriction orders, 1 court enforcement order (Lao Lai), and 1 border control. Later, Luo Yonghao made another real-name report and reported Zheng Gang to the Exit-Entry Administration Department of the National Immigration Administration.

Zheng Gang is not the only one who regards Luo Yonghao as a “shaker”. The one who took action earlier than him was Li Ji.

The previous dispute between Xibei and Luo Yonghao has come to an end. However, on September 19, Liji stated that Xibei would be completely bankrupt within two to three months; later it was revealed that Xibei was suing Luo Yonghao and a court hearing was about to begin.

After the news appeared on the hot search, Luo Yonghao responded with a long article on the 22nd. He said that after the regulatory authorities had previously instructed the platform and both parties to ensure that it would not be expanded, Liji took the initiative to speak out about the matter. Li Kee will file a complaint on Weibo and sue in court for allegedly spreading rumors and defamation.

Alphabet searched the keywords of “Xibei” and “Jia Guolong” on Luo Yonghao’s Weibo account and found that since Luo Yonghao reconciled with Xibei in November last year, Luo Yonghao has never mentioned these two words on social platforms.

The latest development is that Luo Yonghao has contacted the “Liji victims” and is preparing to join a class action lawsuit against Liji and also sue the online platform.

Therefore, throughout mid-to-late September, one hot search for Luo Yonghao covered another, and one front led to another.

And standing opposite him were not just Zheng Gang and Li Ji. Auto blogger “Jingqi Super Intelligence” chased Luo Yonghao on Weibo to scold him, and was later forwarded by Luo Yonghao, who also showed footage of CCTV exposing gangsters and black public relations. Former colleague Huang Bin even posted more than a dozen Weibo posts a day to scold Luo Yonghao. As a result, Huang Bin followed the scolding correctly.

This is an ever-expanding field of public opinion. Luo Yonghao is still responding to netizens’ comments. He will refute if he has doubts and agree with if he has support.

No wonder some netizens lamented, is Luo Yonghao now surrounded by enemies on all sides, or is he fighting with fellow scholars? Luo Yonghao replied: normal work and life.

Luo Yonghao has a reason to be busy dealing with these disturbances, because in three months, he will usher in the annual technology sharing conference.

In September last year, during the battle with Xibei, Luo Yonghao’s public support increased significantly. Even Luo Yonghao himself lamented, “More than 90% of people support me. This is something I have never enjoyed in my life.” Then came the annual science and technology conference at the end of the year. Although Luo Yonghao was 48 minutes late, the cheers were still there. That night, 9.5 million people watched Luo Yonghao’s live broadcast on Douyin alone.

According to Luo Yonghao later revealed, this conference increased the valuations of three start-up companies by at least four to five times.

Qichacha information shows that Jike Technology, which Luo Yonghao wore on site, completed a B+ round of financing in April this year, raising US$50 million, led by Ant and Meituan Longzhu. Jike Technology’s last round of financing was a US$70 million Series B financing in November last year, with a post-money valuation of US$400 million.

Qingxue, an ergonomic chair brand that Luo Yonghao experienced at the conference, also completed two rounds of financing in January and September this year. Angel++ investment in January alone attracted seven investment institutions, including Jinqiu Fund of the Byte Group.

Whether these financings are directly related to the appearance at Luo Yonghao’s technology conference is difficult to verify independently, but at least judging from the results, these startups did receive new financing.

Since this year, Luo Yonghao’s focus is still on “Luo Yonghao’s Crossroads”, and he continues to maintain the state of “eating by mouth”.

According to the battle report released by Luo Yonghao on August 19, in the past year, the total broadcast volume of Crossroads’ 36 feature films across the entire network was 349 million, with 138 hot searches on the entire network, and its annual business partners included 23 brands.

However, during the dispute with Liji in September, Luo Yonghao temporarily suspended the broadcast of Crossroads. The reason was that during the period when he was involved in the whirlpool of public opinion, in order to avoid compromising the guests, in principle it would not be broadcast. In fact, several episodes had already been recorded.

The latest issue currently published is a conversation with Handicraft Geng on September 1.

There is no word yet on when “Crossroads” will return to air. Luo Yonghao, who is constantly controversial, can the technology sharing conference at the end of the year be held as scheduled?

You know, this time, Luo Yonghao’s ambitions are even greater. He used the example of a company that had doubled in valuation at a technology conference last year, and suggested that start-up companies that wanted to attend a technology conference this year could not just pay money. He also hoped to become a shareholder of these companies.

In other words, Luo Yonghao is trying to further upgrade “influence” from one-time exposure and traffic to a long-term business relationship.

This also means that the public opinion controversy Luo Yonghao is currently facing may affect more than just a live broadcast room and a podcast.
