The National Day holiday is coming, and my country’s high-speed rail network will be expanded again. Today (September 28), four high-speed rail lines including the Xiongshang section of the Beijing-Hong Kong high-speed railway, the Xi’an-Ankang section of the Xi-Chongqing high-speed railway, the Yixing high-speed railway, and the Haiyi high-speed railway were put into operation. The newly opened lines cover the four major regions of North China, Northeast China, Northwest China, and Central China. Many places have officially entered the high-speed rail era.

Beijing-Hong Kong high-speed railway section from Xiongan to Shangqiu opened for operation

The Xiongan to Shangqiu section of the Beijing-Hong Kong high-speed rail was put into operation today, and the fastest journey from Xiongan Station to Shangqiu Station is 2 hours and 27 minutes.

The Beijing-Hong Kong high-speed rail is the “one vertical” of my country’s “eight vertical and eight horizontal” high-speed rail network. It starts from Beijing Fengtai Station, passes through Xiongan, Shangqiu, Hefei, Nanchang, Ganzhou, Shenzhen and other places, and ends at Hong Kong West Kowloon Station. At present, the Beijing-Hong Kong high-speed railway section from Shangqiu to Hefei, Hefei to Anqing to Jiujiang, Nanchang to Ganzhou, Ganzhou to Shenzhen, and Shenzhen to Hong Kong have been completed and put into operation, the Nanchang to Jiujiang section is under construction, and the Beijing Fengtai to Xiongan section project is actively and orderly advancing preliminary work.

The Xiongshang section of the Beijing-Hong Kong high-speed railway opened this time starts from Xiongan Station in the north, passes through Xiongan New District, Cangzhou City, Hengshui City, Xingtai City in Hebei Province, Liaocheng City in Shandong Province, Puyang City in Henan Province, Jining City and Heze City in Shandong Province to Shangqiu City in Henan Province, and ends at Shangqiu Station. The total length of the main line is 55. 2 kilometers, with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The entire line has 16 stations including Xiong’an, Renqiu West, Suning Hejian, Shenzhou East, Hengshui South, Zaoqiang South, Qinghe West, Linqing East, Liaocheng West, Yanggu East, Taiqian East, Liangshan, Yuncheng, Heze East, Caoxian West and Shangqiu.

After the Xiongshang section of the Beijing-Hong Kong high-speed railway is completed and opened to traffic, the maximum operating speed will be 350 kilometers per hour. In the early days of operation, the railway department has arranged to operate up to 64 EMU trains every day, all of which are cross-line EMU trains. For the first time, cross-line high-speed trains from Beijing to Hefei and Huangshan North will be operated on the Beijing-Xiong Intercity Railway, the Xiongshang Section of the Beijing-Hong Kong High-speed Railway, and the Beijing-Hong Kong High-speed Railway Shanghe Section; for the first time, cross-line high-speed trains will be operated in Xiongan to Shanghai Hongqiao via the Beijing-Hong Kong High-speed Railway, the Xiongshang Section, the Jizheng High-speed Railway, and the Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway.

The Xiongshang section of the Beijing-Hong Kong high-speed railway connects the Shijiazhuang-Jinan high-speed railway in Hengshui City, the Jinan-Zhengzhou high-speed railway in Liaocheng City, the Rizhao-Lankao high-speed railway in Heze City, and the Xuzhou-Lanzhou high-speed railway in Shangqiu City, achieving interconnection with the Beijing-Guangzhou, Beijing-Shanghai and other high-speed railways. The regional road network is very important.

After the Xiongshang section of the Beijing-Hong Kong high-speed railway is put into operation, counties (cities) such as Renqiu, Suning, Hejian, Shenzhou, Zaoqiang, Qinghe, Linqing, Yanggu, Taiqian, Liangshan, and Yuncheng have entered the high-speed rail era. The city will be more closely connected with the eastern Henan region, and the regional road network layout will be further optimized, which will facilitate travel for people along the line, and is of great significance to supporting the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, serving the construction of Xiongan New Area, and driving economic and social development along the line.

Xi’an to Ankang section of Xi’an-Chongqing high-speed railway opened for operation

The Xi’an to Ankang section of the Xi’an-Chongqing High-speed Railway was put into operation today, and the fastest train ride from Xi’an East Station to Ankang West Station is 45 minutes.

The Xi’an-Chongqing High-speed Railway starts from Xi’an East Station, passes through Shangluo, Ankang, Dazhou, Guang’an and other places, and connects to Chongqing West Station. It is divided into two sections from Xi’an to Ankang and Ankang to Chongqing. Currently, the Ankang to Chongqing section is under construction. The Xi’an to Ankang section that was opened this time starts from Xi’an East Station, passes through Xi’an City, Shangluo City, and Ankang City in Shaanxi Province, and connects to Ankang West Station. The total length of the line is 171 kilometers, with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The entire line has five stations: Xi’an East, Niubeiliang, Zhashui West, Zhen’an West, and Ankang West.

After the Xikang section of the Xiyu High-speed Railway is completed and opened to traffic, the maximum operating speed will be 350 kilometers per hour. In the initial stage of operation, the railway department will arrange to operate up to 20 EMU trains every day, including 10 cross-line EMU trains. The railway running time from Xi’an to Zhashui, Zhen’an and Ankang is as fast as 28 minutes, 40 minutes and 45 minutes respectively, realizing rapid access from Guanzhong area to southern Shaanxi area.

After the opening of the Xikang section of the West-Chongqing High-speed Railway, counties and cities such as Zhashui, Zhenan, and Ankang will enter the high-speed rail era, further enhancing the radiating role of the Xi’an high-speed rail hub, closely connecting the Guanzhong area and southern Shaanxi, greatly facilitating the travel of people along the line, and releasing the existing Xikang railway transportation potential. It is of great significance for serving rural revitalization in the Qinba mountainous area, promoting regional economic and social development, and assisting the development of the western region in the new era to form a new pattern.

Yixing high-speed railway opens for operation

The Yichang-Xingshan High-speed Railway (hereinafter referred to as the “Yixing High-speed Railway”) was put into operation today. The train from Yichang North to Xingshan Station can be reached in 30 minutes at the fastest. By then, a communication channel will be formed between the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chongqing High-speed Railway and the Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-speed Railway. After the high-speed trains from Wuhan to Chongqing run through the Yixing High-speed Railway, the time and space distance will be further compressed, and the two places can be reached in 3 hours and 54 minutes at the fastest.

The Yixing High-speed Railway starts from Yichang North Station of the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chongqing High-speed Railway, passes through Yiling District, Yichang City, enters Xingshan County, and connects to the Xingshan Station of the Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-speed Railway. The total length of the line is 101 kilometers, with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. It has Yichang East Station and Xingshan Station, both of which are existing stations.

After the Yixing high-speed railway is completed and opened to traffic, its maximum operating speed will be 350 kilometers per hour. In the initial stage of operation, the railway department will arrange to operate up to 8 EMU trains every day, all of which are cross-line EMU trains.

Some high-speed trains between Wuhan and Chongqing will take the new route of Yixing High-speed Railway, and the running time will be the fastest running time from the current section of the Wuxi High-speed Railway from Hankou to Xiangyang East, and the Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-speed Railway from Xiangyang East to Chongqing North Section. 4 hours and 56 minutes, compressed to the fastest running time of 3 hours and 54 minutes via the northern section of the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chongqing High-speed Railway from Hankou to Yichang, Yixing High-speed Railway, and the Xingshan-North Chongqing section of the Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-speed Railway, compressed to 1 hour and 2 minutes.

Harbin to Yichun high-speed railway opens for operation

The Harbin to Yichun high-speed railway (hereinafter referred to as the “Hai-Yi High-speed Railway”) opened for operation today, and the fastest journey between Harbin and Yichun is 1 hour and 46 minutes.

The Haiyi High-speed Railway starts from Harbin Station, passes through Harbin City, Suihua City, Tieli City in Heilongjiang Province, and ends at Yichun City. The total length of the line is 318 kilometers and the design speed is 250 kilometers per hour. The entire line has 9 stations: Harbin, Harbin North, Hulan North, Xinglong Town West, Suihua South, Qing’an South, Tieli, Riyuexia, and Yichun West. Harbin Station and Harbin North Station are existing stations, Tieli Station is a reconstruction of an existing station, and the rest are newly built stations. Among them, Yichun West Station is the highest latitude high-speed rail station currently built in my country.

After the Haiyi high-speed railway is completed and opened to traffic, the maximum operating speed will be 250 kilometers per hour. In the initial stage of operation, the railway department arranged a maximum of 38 EMU trains per day, including 4 cross-line EMU trains. Harbin Station can reach Suihua South Station, Tieli Station, and Yichun West Station at the fastest speed of 42 minutes, 1 hour and 14 minutes, and 1 hour and 46 minutes. Yichun West Station can reach Beijing Chaoyang Station and Dalian North Station at the fastest speed of 8 hours and 46 minutes, and 6 hours and 7 minutes.

The Haiyi High-speed Railway is the northernmost high-speed railway in my country. After the line is put into operation, Suihua, Yichun and other cities have entered the high-speed rail era, further improving the layout of the high-speed rail network in Northeast China and expanding the 2-hour traffic circle centered on Harbin, which is of great significance for promoting the development of tourism and ecological resources along the line, driving regional economic and social development, and assisting the overall revitalization of Northeast China.
