Trump says he will form an “artificial intelligence army”

According to Xinhua International Headlines, US President Trump posted on social media on September 19 that he would form an “artificial intelligence army.”

Trump said that in order to form an “artificial intelligence force”, he will soon appoint a “general manager” of artificial intelligence affairs. He said that artificial intelligence represents the next industrial revolution or Internet wave, and its scale and influence will be even greater, and may even account for 25% of the U.S. gross domestic product.

Trump also criticized radical Democrats in the post for “attempting to destroy artificial intelligence,” saying, “We will never hinder or stifle the development of this impressive industry in any way. On the contrary, we must cherish it, support it, and protect its growth.” He also said that the United States will use the existing criminal and civil justice systems to severely punish illegal activities related to artificial intelligence.
