With the further popularization of AI, this kind of wedding photo service based on AI generation technology is attracting the attention of more and more young people preparing for marriage. There is no need to try on wedding dresses and suits, or take photos on site. Consumers provide personal photos and only spend tens to more than a hundred yuan to generate AI wedding photos. So, what is the current market situation of AI wedding photos? What do newcomers think of this format? Will AI technology change the wedding photography industry? The reporter searched on e-commerce and social platforms and found that many businesses already provide AI wedding photo customization services. The reporter consulted a number of online merchants and learned that the price of an AI wedding photo is mostly around 60 yuan, and a relatively simple template face change is as low as 30 yuan. Products that emphasize “private customization” and “exclusive modeling” can cost 150 yuan to 200 yuan per photo.

Take electronic invitations as an example. Generally, more than ten pictures are needed. The price given by the merchant is 400 yuan for 12 pictures. It can be completed within one day on an urgent basis.
Compared with offline shooting, online generation does not require a store, clothing, photography and makeup team, and the cost is mainly labor, software and post-production adjustments. Merchants say budget is only one aspect that customers consider. Some people are busy with work and have no time to arrange photography; some people don’t like to face the camera and are not used to communicating with unfamiliar photographers, but they need photos of the wedding scene and invitations.
AI wedding photos are not without technical barriers. An industry insider engaged in AI wedding image production said that his company has been producing AI wedding micro-movies and MVs, but still encounters problems with wedding photos. Especially for long shots, side faces and special angles, the characters are easily distorted or deformed, making them look “unlike themselves”. In the comment area, many netizens directly left messages asking for tips, reference pictures and software names. Someone tried following the post and said that the same password “doesn’t work well” in a certain AI tool. This also means that the prompt words are not standard answers that can be directly copied. Different tools have different understandings of instructions. The original face photos, reference pictures and the number of adjustments will also affect the final film effect.
The reporter also consulted a wedding photography store that launched “AI new concept wedding photos”. According to the staff, newlyweds must first go to the store to put on makeup, take photos of their faces from the front, side and with different expressions, and then combine their faces into the selected scene later. Customers who want to go to Sailimu Lake but don’t have time can generate the corresponding picture. The staff admitted frankly that the finished film can be used for printing, but it still has some “AI feel”. AI wedding imaging is also expanding to video. A recently launched open source project breaks down the story collection, copywriting, dubbing, drawing and editing of wedding photography into 14 steps. However, it still requires multiple confirmations from the couple and the producer, and the film cannot be automatically produced by simply uploading photos.

A wedding photographer with 15 years of experience believes that no matter how AI develops, it will be difficult for AI wedding photos to completely replace real photography. “Wedding photography is part of the emotional narrative and carries more than just a simple photo of two people. Synthesis technology is not new today, and AI wedding photography has only made this technology more complete and more convenient. If you only value photos and not experience, then green screen photography and post-production synthesis would have been possible many years ago. Travel wedding photos and destination weddings are still popular, which also shows that some couples are willing to pay for the shooting process and sense of ceremony.”
However, the impact of AI on the industry has already appeared in the later stages. A wedding photography practitioner told reporters that customers often ask “can it be done like this” with samples generated by AI, and some people directly request to use AI to retouch the pictures. For photographers, AI can improve the efficiency of some photo retouching tasks, but it still cannot cover all needs. The makeup, skin, light and shadow, and even body proportions that customers expect will also change based on AI samples.
