A farewell ceremony for the body of Comrade Jing Yidan, a famous host of China Central Radio and Television and former CCTV reporter, was held in Beijing on September 17. Relevant leading comrades of the central government expressed their condolences by sending condolence messages and sending wreaths. During the period of Comrade Jing Yidan’s serious illness and after his death, leading comrades of the central government and comrades in charge of the headquarters visited the hospital or expressed their deep condolences for the death of Comrade Jing Yidan through various means and expressed deep condolences to his relatives.
Comrade Jing Yidan passed away in Beijing at 5 a.m. on September 13, 2026 due to ineffective treatment. He was 71 years old.
Comrade Jing Yidan was born in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province in April 1955. He started working in June 1972, joined the Communist Party of China in July 1974, and retired in May 2015. He worked successively in Heilongjiang Qinghe Forestry Bureau, Beijing Broadcasting Institute, and Heilongjiang People’s Broadcasting Station. In 1988, he joined CCTV and hosted “Economic Half Hour”, “Focus Interview”, “Oriental Time and Space”, “News Investigation”, “Moving China” and “Live China” “Voice”, “Yidan Topics” and other columns, hosted the live broadcast of major reporting events such as the return of Hong Kong and the return of Macao. It won the Golden Microphone Award for the top ten national TV programs for three consecutive years, and won the National May 1st Labor Medal and the title of “Women’s Contribution Model” for urban women across the country. He served as a member of the 9th and 10th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and was elected as a representative of the 11th National People’s Congress. Comrade Jing Yidan has been involved in the front line of news for more than 30 years. His calm, intellectual, friendly and insightful style has won the hearts of the people and made important contributions to China’s television news industry.
