Russia and Ukraine have a regional ceasefire in the Kherson region, but fighting has not stopped in many other places

A few days ago, Russia and Ukraine reached a ceasefire in Aleshki and beyond in the Kherson region of Ukraine. The ceasefire will last from 4 a.m. Moscow time on October 27, 2026 and 3 a.m. Kiev time until November 1. Humanitarian corridors will be opened at that time to transport food, medicine and other aid supplies and evacuate local residents. Aleski is located on the left bank of the Dnieper River and is controlled by Russia, across the river from the city of Kherson controlled by Ukraine. Experts believe that the ceasefire tactics have limited strategic significance and are difficult to break the overall deadlock; on the 27th, the Russian army still launched large-scale attacks on military-industrial enterprises and transportation and logistics facilities in many places in Ukraine.
