8 times emergency imaging

“Jilin No. 1” took high-definition comparison pictures of the earthquake area before and after the disaster

After the earthquake, Changguang Satellite immediately dispatched the “Jilin-1” series of satellites for transit imaging, taking advantage of remote sensing technology to obtain high-definition satellite comparison images of the disaster area before and after the earthquake, providing an intuitive reference for ground rescue and disaster assessment.Up to now, Changguang Satellite has dispatched 6 in-orbit satellites including “Jilin-1” Gaofen 03 and Gaofen 07 to carry out emergency monitoring of the disaster-stricken area, and has performed a total of 8 emergency imaging missions.

Based on the high-resolution remote sensing images and pre-disaster historical images of the disaster-stricken area, the team conducted a comparative analysis of the disaster situation. Relevant emergency monitoring data has been submitted to national ministries and commissions and other relevant units as soon as possible to provide data support for disaster assessment, on-site rescue and other work.

Reporters from the main station visit the frontline of search, rescue and resettlement

At present, the disaster-stricken towns and villages are making every effort to promote the resettlement of the masses, the distribution of cold protection materials, and the maintenance of infrastructure. As prefabricated houses are gradually put into place, the affected people will gradually be transferred to transitional resettlement houses with better thermal insulation conditions.

A special search mark for more efficient rescue!

One of the villages hardest hit by the earthquake, a village in Gangche Township, Baqing County, a reporter found a special mark on the wall of a collapsed house:There is a “C” in the box, and “CX-4” and “10.23” are written below.

Local firefighting officials said such markings are crucial to their search and rescue efforts:

  • A “C” in the box means that all search and rescue efforts for the house have been completed;
  • “CX-4” is the abbreviation of the search team that completed this search and rescue work – Qamdo Fire Fighting No. 4 Search Team;
  • “10.23” is the time when search and rescue is completed.

This earthquake occurred in a high-cold and high-altitude area, and all affected locations are extremely far away. Therefore, fire rescue forces must carry out search and rescue operations in the shortest time and with the highest efficiency. This symbol can ensure an organic cooperation between different rescue teams. After all the work is completed, mark it and tell the rescue team that comes later: Our work has been completed, and you can invest your time and energy in the next work.

Preventing cold and keeping warm is the core focus of the current resettlement work

Forecasts from the Central Meteorological Observatory show that the lowest temperature in Baqing County will be around minus 5 degrees Celsius in the next three days. The disaster area is located in a high-altitude area with cold weather. It is even more necessary to closely monitor the earthquake situation and weather changes, implement scientific rescue, and strictly prevent secondary disasters. At the same time, we will promptly allocate emergency and rescue supplies, properly resettle the affected people, and step up repairs to damaged infrastructure.
