The “15th Five-Year Plan” has started well and has made a good start丨Promote state-owned central enterprises to achieve new development

The State Council Information Office today held a series of press conferences with the theme of “Getting Started with the 15th Five-Year Plan”. The relevant person in charge of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council introduced the implementation of the 15th Five-Year Plan and the promotion of high-quality development of central enterprises.

As of the end of August, the total assets of central enterprises reached 99.3 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.2%; from January to August, the scale of R&D investment increased by 2.7% year-on-year, and it is expected to exceed 1 trillion yuan for the whole year. This will be the fifth consecutive year that central enterprises have invested more than one trillion yuan in R&D, achieving a good start.

During the “15th Five-Year Plan” period, our country will further optimize the layout and structure of the state-owned economy. Specifically, we must pay more attention to “strengthening the foundation” in areas related to national security and the lifeline of the national economy. Since the beginning of this year, central enterprises have accelerated the implementation of a number of major projects and landmark projects around the “Six Networks”, with annual plans to arrange related investments of approximately 2 trillion yuan. In the field of forward-looking strategic emerging industries, more emphasis will be placed on “expanding capacity and improving quality.”
