From the first working capital loan of 5 million yuan in 2022 to the credit support of nearly 100 million yuan now, Minsheng Bank has been accompanying the growth of an automobile mold manufacturing company in Changshu.
Minsheng Bank serves far more than just this one enterprise. Minsheng Bank has incorporated technology finance as a strategic business into its mid- and long-term development plans, and continues to improve the quality and efficiency of serving technological innovation enterprises.
The 2025 annual report shows that as of the end of the reporting period, Minsheng Bank served 126,200 technology enterprises, 29,700 “specialized, special and new” customers, and the balance of loans to technology enterprises was 452.001 billion yuan, an increase of 9.66% from the end of the previous year. In Suzhou, this living water is flowing to each specialized and new enterprise, witnessing their transformation from “starting a business” to “sailing out to sea”.
From 5 million to nearly 100 million, supply chain finance revitalizes long-term accounts
What does an automobile mold company without sufficient collateral support from a loan of 5 million yuan to a credit extension of nearly 100 million yuan?
In 2020, the company started preparations for building a factory. From acquiring 40 acres of land to planning a full-process workshop such as research and development, processing, assembly, and testing, and then purchasing large-scale CNC processing equipment, the company invested more than 100 million yuan in the early stage, almost all of the entrepreneurial team’s wealth.
In 2022, the company relied on its strong technical strength to quickly establish cooperative relationships with leading domestic car companies, and orders grew steadily. However, the automobile industry chain has a long settlement cycle and slow collection of accounts receivable, making companies’ needs for working capital turnover increasingly urgent.
When the company was in trouble for funds, Minsheng Bank Suzhou Branch took the initiative to come to the door and quickly provided a working capital loan of 5 million yuan in response to the company’s lack of sufficient collateral. This is a “timely rain”. If we want to eradicate the structural problems of long account periods and slow payment collections, we still need fresh water from the source.
To this end, the branch relies on the supply chain platform that connects the head office with the company’s downstream car companies, and provides supply chain financing services to the company through the “Xinrong e” product, reliving accounts that would have taken nearly a year to withdraw in advance, alleviating the capital pressure caused by the long account period from the source.
The flow of funds is smooth and the pace of development is accelerated. Faced with the capital needs brought about by equipment updates, production capacity improvements, and order acceptance, Minsheng Bank continues to follow up on corporate operations and production expansion plans. The credit line has been increased from the initial 5 million yuan to nearly 100 million yuan, and it is also equipped with comprehensive financial services such as acceptance bills, payroll services, and financial cloud services.
In just a few years, the company has established close cooperation with many domestic leading automobile brands. The annual output of automobile body parts molds exceeds 10,000 tons, and sales have doubled.
This is not an isolated case. The 2025 annual report shows that Minsheng Bank’s “Minsheng E-Chain” product system has served a total of 6,422 core enterprises, an increase of 63.33% from the end of the previous year; there are 67,032 customers on the chain, an increase of 46.44%; the balance of inclusive loans on the chain is 51.8 billion yuan, an increase of 18.8 billion yuan.
Supply chain finance is becoming an important starting point for Minsheng Bank to “drive enterprises through chains” and extend services to specialized, innovative and small, medium and micro enterprises.
Breaking the ice in foreign trade, online financing opens up cross-border links for small, medium and micro enterprises
The growth of specialized and new enterprises not only extends to the industrial chain, but also leads to overseas markets.
A small, medium and micro textile industry and trade enterprise in Changshu with 60 employees and annual sales of about 200 million yuan. It is mainly engaged in fabric printing, dyeing, processing and export. Enterprises export raw fabrics to Africa and other places, with an account period of usually 3 to 5 months, and a single batch worth US$300,000 to US$600,000. There is a continuous need for working capital, but the existing land and factory buildings cannot be used as collateral to obtain credit.
The Suzhou Branch’s foreign trade working group teamed up with the Changshu Sub-branch to make door-to-door connections, using the “export e-financing” product as a breakthrough point. From business initiation to approval, it took less than half a day. The company was approved for a credit of 5 million yuan online. Subsequently, multiple withdrawals were completed online, with a total of 10 transactions totaling 19.9 million yuan.
“Export e-financing” is Minsheng Bank’s full-process online credit product for small, medium and micro export enterprises. Enterprises apply online, and the system automatically determines the quota. After the goods are exported, they can initiate financing online, with a maximum limit of 10 million yuan. Credit is granted in a credit-like manner, without the need for forced mortgage or pledge guarantees. The loan can be repaid at any time, and interest is calculated on a daily basis.
Focusing on the foreign exchange collection and settlement, exchange rate hedging, and financing needs of such enterprises, the branch also supports settlement and exchange rate hedging products such as “Super Remittance” and “Cloud Lock Remittance” to form a product portfolio of “export e-financing + cross-border settlement” to achieve batch development of small, medium and micro foreign trade customer groups.
This is in line with Minsheng Bank’s cross-border financial layout. The bank is building six cross-border service platforms, including Shanghai Free Trade Zone Branch, Haikou Branch, Hong Kong Branch, London Branch, CMBC International and Minsheng Financial Leasing, to provide customers with comprehensive and multi-level cross-border financial solutions with “one-point access, global services”. In 2025, the volume of international settlement business will increase by 14.30% year-on-year, the number of facilitated cross-border settlement business will increase by 16.35%, and it will serve more than 40,000 international business customers.
Currently, the company is accelerating its globalization layout and has reached preliminary cooperation intentions with a number of internationally renowned car companies. “Going overseas” has become an important direction for the next stage of development.
