According to Reuters, on September 18, local time, the Swedish Nobel Foundation announced that it will increase the 2026 Nobel Prize bonus by 9%, and all bonuses will increase by 1 million Swedish kronor to 12 million Swedish kronor (approximately 8.15 million yuan).

Hannah Siane, executive director of the Nobel Foundation, said in a statement: “Increasing the amount of the prize is to safeguard the long-term significance of the Nobel Prize and to ensure that the actual value of the prize does not diminish over time.”

According to the Nobel Foundation, when the Nobel Prize was first awarded in 1901, the prize money for each award was 150,782 Swedish krona.

According to information on the official website of the Nobel Prize, the 2026 Nobel Prize is scheduled to be announced from October 5 to 12.
