Today is the 26th National Defense Education Day. Focusing on the theme of “carrying forward the spirit of the great Long March and building a strong national defense together”, all military units jointly carry out various forms of national defense education activities at their locations to strengthen national defense awareness and the mission of preparing for war.

In the past two days, a unit of the Beijing Garrison, a brigade of the 72nd Group Army, the Haibei Detachment of the Qinghai Armed Police Corps and other units held open military camp activities, inviting military families and resident teachers and students to watch demonstrations of military subjects such as combat assassination, special driving, enemy capture and confrontation, and experience nuclear, biological and chemical protection, use of light weapons and other subjects. The audience experienced the heated atmosphere of military training and preparations at close range, and truly experienced the people’s army’s excellent ability to protect their homeland, which further inspired the national defense sentiment of a strong country and strong army.

In Wendeng, Shandong Province, a special video link class was held at Wenfeng Primary School. More than 1,200 teachers and students in the school had a “cloud” dialogue with border defense officers and soldiers of a certain unit of the Tibet Military Region. The soldiers shared with the teachers and students through video their touching stories of taking root in the “forbidden zone of life” and guarding the borders of the motherland.

In Tai’an, Shandong Province, officers and soldiers of the Navy’s “Taishan Ship” visited Taishan Feng Yuxiang Primary School and led everyone to experience flag language and learn knotting skills. The students also presented hand-painted “Taishan Ship” paintings to the officers and soldiers.
