The postal industry focuses on the market demand for seasonal fresh produce and specialty agricultural and seafood products, and continues to upgrade its delivery services.
The latest statistics from the State Post Bureau show that from January to August this year, the national postal industry completed a total of 145.46 billion pieces of mailing business, a year-on-year increase of 4.0%; the postal industry business revenue (excluding the direct operating income of Postal Savings Bank) totaled 1.23045 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.0%. The industry as a whole maintained a steady growth trend.
Since August, all kinds of seasonal fruits and seafood products have been put on the market, and the demand for fresh food delivery has reached its peak. Postal express companies in various regions have increased their investment in transportation capacity and optimized service models to accurately ensure the efficient and fresh circulation of seasonal products.
In Pujiang, Zhejiang, the harvested grapes are transported directly to the express sorting center via unmanned vehicles, where they are packed and packaged after being refined, graded and screened. Each bunch of grapes is individually wrapped with food-grade absorbent paper and then put into a breathable fresh-keeping bag, which can effectively absorb transportation condensation water, prevent fruit mildew, and avoid problems of grain loss and damage caused by transportation friction.
Grape grower Zhang Yongyu said: “Grapes are sold as far away as Shenzhen and Heilongjiang, Guangdong. In the past, we often sent them out and people complained. This year, only one or two complained.”
In addition, relying on the market opportunity of the four major sea areas for full-scale fishing, domestic express delivery companies have integrated aviation, high-speed rail, and cold chain logistics resources to build a multimodal transportation network and launch exclusive fresh delivery services to greatly improve the circulation time and freshness quality of seafood products.
