In May 1935, the Red Army advanced towards the naturally dangerous Dadu River. The Dadu River flows rapidly, and there are high mountains on both sides. There is only an iron cable bridge that can pass through. This chain bridge is the Luding Bridge that the Red Army must capture when marching north… Many people first learned about the Luding Bridge from the primary school Chinese text “Flying to Capture the Luding Bridge”.

More than 90 years ago, soldiers of the Red Army rushed day and night and charged in bloody battles. With only thirteen bare iron cables, they broke through the natural barriers and conquered the Luding Bridge, opening up a key passage for the Long March northward. More than 90 years later, this ancient bridge that witnessed history is still being guarded silently, allowing the red memory to continue along the Dadu River.
This year marks the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army’s Long March. Follow the textbook and experience the shocking Long March spirit.
