On September 26, Zhang Yimou, who directed the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, recalled Liu Huan through social platforms. He said, “I was shocked to learn of Liu Huan’s passing and couldn’t help but feel sad. “You and Me” is still sung, and its sound and soul remain in the Bird’s Nest.”
