According to Yonhap News Agency’s report on the 23rd, Lee Jae-myung also held talks with US President Trump in New York on the 22nd. The two sides agreed to maintain close communication on achieving peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula. When introducing the results of the meeting between South Korea and the United States, South Korea’s Director of National Security Office Wi Sung-rok said that the two sides held talks for about 30 minutes. During the talks, Trump once again confirmed his willingness to engage in dialogue with North Korea.

In addition, South Korea and the United States also confirmed their common intention to deepen South Korea-US cooperation in nuclear submarine fuel, uranium enrichment and spent fuel reprocessing, shipbuilding, and the transfer of wartime operational command authority based on the “Joint Fact List” announced in November last year, and agreed to continue to promote follow-up consultations.
