Long-term travel becomes mainstream, immersive experience lights up new holiday landscape

During this year’s National Day holiday, the national cultural tourism market is rich in supply, and travel enthusiasm is fully unleashed; multi-city tours and in-depth tours to destinations are simultaneously heating up, and long-term travel has become the choice of many people.

When people travel, they shift from “seeing the scenery” to “entering the scene.” Immersive, quality, and in-depth experiences have become the mainstream of the market.

During this National Day holiday, the demand for medium- and long-distance travel has been fully unleashed, and the characteristics of long-term travel have been further highlighted. Passenger flow is active in key areas such as the Yangtze River Delta, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Greater Bay Area, Chengdu-Chongqing, the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, and the Northeast urban agglomeration.

Multi-city series and in-depth tourism to destinations are heating up at the same time. Tourists’ single stay time has been significantly extended, and the stay time of county tours has been significantly extended.

Driven by the introduction of new measures to promote RV consumption by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and other ten departments, RV travel has gained more and more attention from consumers this holiday season. The number of young families born in the 1990s and 1995s has increased rapidly, and travel demand has shifted from short-distance camping in the surrounding areas to long-distance self-driving across provinces.

The strong feelings of family and country drive the red cultural tourism to continue to heat up. Visitors to red scenic spots such as the Zhejiang New Fourth Army Jiangsu-Zhejiang Military Region Memorial Hall and the Xishui Sidu Chishui Memorial Hall in Guizhou flocked to learn about the revolutionary history.

All regions are actively exploring new “tourism +” business formats. The integration of “tourism + music”, “tourism + art” and “tourism + industrial heritage” and other business formats is advancing in depth, and the breadth and depth of tourist experience are constantly expanding.

Various regions continue to segment the needs of customer groups, improve supporting services, and extend the industrial chain, allowing tourists to transform from spectators of the scenery to participants and experiencers of culture.

Dai Bin, President of China Tourism Academy:Tourists’ experiences at tourist destinations are richer and more diverse.

At the same time, various regions continue to optimize cultural and tourism public services and implement convenience measures to ensure that tourists can travel safely and comfortably.
