In 2026, the total box office of movies (including pre-sales) will exceed 30 billion yuan, with more than 760 million moviegoers and more than 113 million screenings. 其中“Trace of the Detective”Breakthroughs in criminal investigation technology are integrated into the narrative process of the film, opening the door to the truth amid layers of fog. The film is currently ranked first at the box office.
From the beginning of the year to the National Day holiday, domestic films have always dominated the market. Currently, the top five box office movies in 2026 are all domestic films, namely:“Flying Life 3”, “Kung Fu Girls”, “Welcome to Dragon Restaurant”, “Eight Immortals!” 》和《A Love Letter to Grandma”. In addition, 9 films have exceeded 1 billion yuan in box office this year, exceeding the 8 films last year.
Audience Tian Peishan:I think the overall quality of domestic films this year is pretty good, and the stories of many films are also very solid. Nowadays, domestic films are becoming more and more understanding of us ordinary people.
At the same time, various localities have also launched various forms of movie-watching subsidy activities to benefit people, which has continuously reduced the average movie ticket price and attracted more people to enter the theater. According to statistics, the number of movie screenings and the number of moviegoers this year hit a record high for the same period in history.
The supply of films is abundant, and theater construction continues to be upgraded. As of the end of September, the country had a net increase of 438 theaters and 2,632 screens, bringing the total number of screens to nearly 96,000, ranking first in the world. In particular, the proportion of newly added movie theaters in county and township business districts continues to increase, indicating that the Chinese film market is continuing to sink.
