UAE investigating motive for flydubai cockpit clash! The passenger plane plummeted thousands of meters

On September 30, on Dubai Air flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv, a pilot stabbed another pilot and then tried to crash the plane. He was later subdued by passengers and crew. This incident attracted widespread attention from the international community. It is reported that the UAE Attorney General Hamad Saif al-Shamsi ordered the establishment of an investigation team composed of professionals from the prosecution agency to investigate related incidents. Shamsi requested that all necessary measures be taken to collect relevant information and evidence, ascertain the facts, determine the specific circumstances and motives of the incident, and verify whether the incident was related to any terrorist activities and whether there was prior planning or instruction.

Under current law, the UAE judicial authorities have jurisdiction to investigate the incident because the aircraft involved was registered in the UAE and painted with the UAE flag. Therefore, UAE law applies to crimes committed on board that aircraft, even if the relevant crime occurred outside the territory of the UAE. The investigation team has coordinated its work with the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority and relevant authorities.

Data from a flight tracking website showed that the passenger plane was flying westward over Saudi Arabia at an altitude of about 34,000 feet (10,363 meters) when the incident occurred, and then descended by more than 14,000 feet (4,267 meters) in about 30 seconds before turning northwest. The plane briefly entered Jordanian airspace, then returned to Saudi airspace and headed to Tabuk.

The UAE Civil Aviation Authority said some crew members were injured in the incident. The 174 passengers on board then took another flydubai flight to Tel Aviv. The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority has launched an investigation into the incident, including a review of flight operations and security.
